DFA files complaint over alleged killing of Filipina maid in Kuwait

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has filed a complaint over the killing of an abused Filipina maid in Kuwait.

However, the department did not make it clear who was the subject of the complaint, according to a report by JP Soriano on State of the Nation with Jessica Soho on Tuesday.

Constancia Lago Dayag, 47, who died last week after suffering hematoma and concussions, was reported to have also been sexually assaulted.

The report said the DFA vowed to continue providing legal and other assistance to Dayag's next of kin.

The slain OFW's remains are expected to be repatriated within the week.

The DFA also said it was fast tracking the release of the results from the forensic report.

On Tuesday, the family demanded justice anew for the death of Dayag, who was supposed to celebrate her birthday in a few days.

The family also expressed fears that the information surrounding her mother's death would be manipulated to indicate that she died of natural causes.

—Margaret Claire Layug/LDF, GMA News
