Tadhana episode tackles story of OFW sold by Saudi employers to 2 families
When 36-year-old Rodora flew to Saudi Arabia in 2018, she did so with confidence that things will work out well, just as they did when she was a domestic worker in Singapore and Macau.
The contract that Rodora signed with her recruitment agency stated that she will work for a family of four in Riyadh.
However, when she received her plane ticket from the agency, she became wary because the flight was for Jeddah.
The agency allayed her fears and assured her that she will be picked up by her employers from Jeddah and brought to Riyadh.
Upon meeting her new employers in Jeddah, Rodora was again shocked when she was taken to Bisha, a far-off province in Saudi Arabia, because she had apparently been sold to two different families.
Rodora was forced to serve 11 people and sleep in the living room of a house that had 8 bedrooms.
The Filipina was constantly overworked by her employers, oftentimes leaving her with less than three hours of sleep each day.
Watch this Tadhana episode featuring Diana Zubiri to learn more about the maltreatment of Rodora in Saudi Arabia and how she sought justice from her recruitment agency:
