Canada-based OFW pays tribute to hardworking nurse-wife

An overseas Filipino worker in Canada, has posted a touching tribute on social media to his wife, who works as a nurse.

Reynan Villena, who is based in Montreal, Canada told GMA News Online that he posted a sketch of his wife wearing a mask as a way to encourage her as job becomes more difficult by the day as cases of coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) patients continue to rise in Montreal.

“To my beautiful wife Roxanne Guerra-Villena, you may not recognize yourself with this portrait i made. but i want the world to know how proud we are in what you do, exposing yourself to whatever virus that is present in your work place, just to give medical attention to people with illnesses,” he said.

In the same post, Reynan and their son Joaqui assures Roxanne of their love for her.

“Let’s all pray for the safety of all medical practitioners,they too are human,they don’t have super powers and they have families that needs them more than anybody else. be safe everyone. #nurselife.”

A photojournalist and former GMA Cebu art director/linear editor has something to “show” toilet paper hoarders, he made another sketch with the caption: is this how tissue hoarders fight covid-19?

 

He also posted a sketch that expresses his hope that the dreaded disease will be defeated soon.
