65-year-old Pinay attacked near Times Square —report

A 65-year-old Filipina was attacked near Times Square in Manhattan, New York City on Monday.

The Filipina, identified as Vilma Kari by police, was walking down a street when a man suddenly kicked her in the stomach, according to a report of The New York Times.

The victim fell on the ground. The attacker kicked her in the head three times as she tried to get up.

The incident was caught on CCTV shared by the New York Police Department on Twitter.

“WANTED for ASSAULT: Do you know this guy? On 3/29/21 at approx 11:40 AM, in front of 360 W 43 St in Manhattan, the suspect punched and kicked a 65-year-old woman while making anti-Asian statements. Any info? DM @NYPDTips or anonymously call them at 800-577-TIPS,” the NYPD said in its post.

The police also shared a screenshot showing the suspect’s face.

Police said the suspect yelled at the victim, saying, “You don’t belong here.”

The incident was witnessed by three men at the lobby of the apartment building. A security guard closed the front door as the woman was still on the ground, the video showed.

The victim’s daughter said her mother was not ready to talk yet as she was overwhelmed, the NYT report said.

The victim immigrated to the US decades ago.

A man who opened the door at the victim’s apartment said she suffered from a fractured pelvis and was still in the hospital, the NYT report said.
