8 Filipinos rescued from online job scam in Cambodia

Eight Filipinos who fell victim to online job scammers in Cambodia were rescued and safely returned to the Philippines on Saturday.

According to Jonathan Andal’s GTV News Live report, one victim said they had been offered sales agent or chat support jobs.

However, when they arrived in Cambodia, they were forced to take part in love scams.

If they failed to scam victims, their wages were reduced, and they were threatened with violence.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), there were still 30 Filipinos who needed to be rescued with the help of Cambodian authorities. — Sherylin Untalan/DVM, GMA Integrated News
