Filipina in Gaza injured amid Israeli airstrikes
A Filipina in Gaza was injured amid the Israeli airstrikes against the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
According to Raffy Tima's Sunday 24 Oras Weekend report, the Filipina was slightly injured on her leg and the side of her body.
"Dalawang beses po silang tumira. 'Yung mga bata okay naman nasa baba po," she said.
(They struck twice. The children are okay; they're downstairs.)
She said that her children were safe, but the kitchen of their house was damaged.
She was also traumatized by what happened.
“Lumipat na kami ng bahay, oo, nasa kapitbahay," she added.
(We moved out of the house; we're at our neighbors.)
Meanwhile, the Philippine Embassy in Cairo was prepared to pick-up Filipinos from Gaza once authorities allowed foreigners to cross the border.
Meanwhile, about five thousand Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, based on the latest record of the Hamas Health Ministry.
More than 50 Palestinians were said to have been killed during a Saturday night airstrike. The death toll may increase now that Israel was determined to intensify their attacks after America promised additional air defenses. — Sherylin Untalan/DVM, GMA Integrated News
