8th batch of Israel repatriates land at NAIA

The latest batch of overseas Filipino workers repatriated from Israel arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Friday afternoon.

According to a post by the Department of Migrant Workers, there were a total of 32 OFWs, consisting of eight hotel workers and 24 caregivers, and one infant in the group.

The repatriates were personally greeted by DMW Officer-in-Charge Hans Leo Cacdac.

The current group is the 8th batch of repatriates from Israel, bringing the total number of OFWs who have safely returned to the country to 256.

Meanwhile, the DMW is also processing documents for 150 more Filipinos from Lebanon and preparing for the arrival of three repatriates.

“Kasi nga (because)… it takes a little longer in Lebanon due to the immigration concerns of some of our kababayans (countrymen) there,” Cacdac said.

Israel remains under Alert Level 2, which limits deployment of new OFWs in the country, restriction of non-essential movements, avoiding places of protest, and preparation for possible evacuation, following the Hamas attacks on October 7.—Jiselle Anne Casucian/AOL, GMA Integrated News
