Five overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by the ongoing conflict in Haiti have returned to the Philippines on Tuesday, said the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
They were among the 40 OFWs and the first batch who voluntarily requested repatriation due to violent gang activities in Haiti.
The DMW said that the five OFWs received immediate assistance and reintegration support upon their arrival at NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City.
"The repatriation of the OFWs was in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration," said the DMW. —Sherylin Untalan/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
