DMW warns against cross-country recruitment schemes
The Department of Migrant Workers reminded the public about the increasing incidents of “cross-country” or “third-country” recruitment schemes.
In a statement released Tuesday, the DMW said these schemes are often linked to possible human trafficking for forced criminality incidents in West Africa.
The scheme often involved stopping over one other country before landing to your final point of destination.
The trafficking schemes often target overseas Filipino workers, the DMW said.
“Pinaalalahanan ng DMW ang publiko na maging matalino at huwag magpapaloko sa mga pekeng recruiter upang hindi mabiktima ng illegal recruitment, human trafficking, at online scams,” the statement read.

Earlier, the DMW also warned against offerings of fake Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs).
