OWWA opens new OFW facility in Hong Kong

A new Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) service hub opened in Hong Kong, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) announced Saturday.

In a Facebook post, OWWA said the OFW Global Center aims to provide a facility for Filipinos in Hong Kong where they can rest, inquire, study, and enjoy.

The OFW Global Center is located on the 18th floor, United Centre, Admiralty Building.

The facility has different training venues that OFWs can use for their training and learning sessions.

The OFW facility also has a Migrant's Brew Coffee Shop where OFWs can have free coffee.

It will be supervised by OWW Hong Kong under welfare officer Marilou Sumalinog.

As of 2023, there were approximately 190,000 Filipino foreign domestic helpers (FDHs) in Hong Kong, representing about 57% of the total FDH population, according to Hong Kong immigration records. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
