PH, Croatia crafting job program with no placement fee
Filipinos interested in working abroad may get a job in Croatia as its officials and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) are crafting a government-to-government job program that has no placement fee.
According to JP Soriano’s Monday report on “Saksi,” Croatia needs hotel workers like housekeepers, front desk personnel, and office staff.
Under the program, applicants will not go through an agency since the employment process will be conducted directly by DMW.
DMW reminded Filipinos to wait for the agency’s official announcement and avoid entertaining offers from illegal recruiters.
The Public Employment Service Office of Manila organized a mega job fair earlier today, coinciding with National Heroes Day.
Among the companies that participated were those from Japan, Norway, Lithuania, Saudi Arabia, and Ireland.
Japan is looking for drivers, wielders, and farmers with a monthly salary of P70,000 to P90,000.
Employers will also shoulder the workers’ accommodation and food.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s Language Institute offers courses for those who want to learn Japanese.
Since the “ber” months are coming, jobs in demand in the country include store crew, sales representative, and housekeeping.
Those interested may apply at any local employment office, its website, or through the website of the Department of Labor and Employment.
DMW reminded the public to avoid engaging in job openings offered on social media or cross-platform messaging apps.
The public must also verify that the company where they are applying has legitimate job orders and a license from DMW. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/LDF, GMA Integrated News
