CFO, PH Consulate boost efforts to address mental health of Filipino students in Australia
The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) has partnered up with the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Queensland, Australia to address mental health concerns for Filipino international students in the country.
According to a statement on Thursday, CFO Secretary Dante Ang II and Philippine Honorary Consul to Queensland Sheryll Lucelle Gabutero discussed creating joint programs to tackle student concerns relating to academic pressure and financial burden.
Among proposed projects were vlogs providing mental tips and advice from Filipino students currently in Australia.
Meanwhile, CFO and the Consulate also discussed the continuation of Filipino-Australian cultural immersion program YouLeaD.
“This partnership is a direct extension of the CFO's core mandate to protect the velfare, facilitate integration, and provide support systems for overseas Filipinos,” the statement read. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
