DMW: 16 repatriated OFWs from Lebanon now back in PH
Sixteen overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Lebanon arrived in Manila on Monday night as part of the government’s efforts to repatriate distressed OFWs from the Middle East, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.
In a statement, the DMW said the OFWs arrived at 6 p.m. Monday via a Turkish Airlines flight that landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
This is the second batch of OFWs from Lebanon who safely returned to the Philippines amid the Middle East conflict.
Upon their arrival in Manila, the OFWs were welcomed by personnel of the DMW led by DMW Assistant Secretary Ma. Regina Angela Galias, as well as personnel of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, a medical team, etc.
The DMW said 26 OFWs from Lebanon have returned to the country, including the first batch of 10 OFWs who arrived on March 10. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
