Delays affect PH passport processing — DFA
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday announced expected delays in Philippine passport issuance amid the ongoing Middle East crisis.
In a statement, the DFA said applications filed starting the last week of March 2026 may take 10 to 15 working days from the date of application before passports are released.
The delay is attributed to logistical and supply chain disruptions linked to the impact of the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
The revised processing timeline will remain in effect until further notice.
“The Department is closely working with its third-party service provider for ePassport printing to resolve the current delays and ensure that passport operations normalize as soon as possible,” the DFA said.
