DMW: 154 overseas Filipinos safely repatriated from Bahrain
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Monday reported the safe return of 154 overseas Filipinos from Bahrain amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.
In a Facebook post, the DMW said 106 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their 48 dependents arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 at 11:06 a.m. of April 13.
They arrived via a Gulf Air flight.
The DMW said the repatriation was successfully carried out through the cooperation of the DMW, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
The overseas Filipinos were escorted from Bahrain to Dammam, Saudi Arabia for their flight back home.
They were welcomed at the NAIA Terminal 3 by DMW and OWWA personnel who extended financial assistance to them. — JMA, GMA News
