DMW: 363 Pinoys from Middle East, 20 remains of OFWs return to PH

A total of 363 Filipinos and the remains of 20 overseas Filipino workers were repatriated from the Middle East on Wednesday.

In a video posted on social media, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) shared that the remains of the 20 OFWs arrived from Kuwait on early Wednesday morning.

A pastor and a priest were present to bless the remains before these were turned over to their respective families.

The process was witnessed by DMW Undersecretary Felicitas Q. Bay, Undersecretary Dominique Rubia-Tutay, and other representatives of the DMW and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

At around 5:30 a.m., 328 OFWs landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on board a Kuwait Airlines flight.

Another flight carrying 35 repatriates from Dubai and Lebanon also landed at the Ninoy Aquino Terminal 3 at 6:00 a.m. Among them were 21 were OFWs and three family members from Dubai and 11 OFWs from Lebanon.

The repatriates were provided with financial assistance and medical assessment, as needed. —Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/AOL, GMA News
