PH Embassy facilitates repatriation of 22 Filipinos, including two minors, from Israel
At least 22 Filipinos, including two minors, were able to safely leave Israel and are expected to arrive in Manila by Saturday, April 18, according to the Philippine Embassy in Israel.
The group was assisted by the Department of Migrant Workers-Overseas Workers Welfare Admnistration in crossing the Taba Border Crossing leading outside of Israel on Thursday, April 16.
Upon arrival in Taba, Egypt the group was met by staff from the Philippine Embassy in Cairo and the OWWA Rapid Response Team.
The Embassy said that rrom Cairo, they boarded a flight that passed through Oman before landing in Manila on April 18.
"Sa kabuuan, 191 na Pilipinong caregivers, hotel workers, mga menor de edad, turista, pilgrims, at mga estudyante and natulungan ng Embahadang makalabas ng Israel," the Embassy reported.
(In total, 191 Filipino caregivers, hotel workers, minors, tourists, pilgrims, and students were helped by the Embassy to leave Israel.)
