No Pinoys hurt in Berlin vehicle incident — DFA

No Filipinos were hurt after a vehicle mowed down a crowd near Berlin’s Pride celebrations over the weekend, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Monday.

DFA said the update was from the Philippine Embassy in Berlin.

There were also no Filipinos reported injured from the Migrant Workers Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Berlin.

“The Embassy is continuously monitoring the developments and will try to contact the police authorities on the matter today,” the DFA said.

The vehicle incident resulted in one person dead and 17 individuals hurt.

According to the Berlin police, the vehicle struck multiple people after charging into the city’s central Tiergarten park close to the Brandenburg Gate.

The suspect drove a minivan into a crowd near a major LGBTQ Pride gathering in Berlin. He was later was shot dead by law enforcement officers in the city's Spandau district, police said on Sunday.
