A Filipina in Dubai was recognized for her honesty when she returned a bag containing cash, checks, and documents to its owner.

In a post on the Dubai Police Instagram account, Bur Dubai Police Station Acting Director Colonel Rashid Mohammed Saleh Al Shehhi went to the work place of Mae Anne Olmidillo, a barista to hand over a certificate of recognition.

The police said Olmedillo returned a bag containing Dh195,000 worth about P2.75 million and two cheques; one worth Dh500,000 (about P7 million) and another for Dh6,250 (P88,000), a cheque book and several documents.

Olmidillo honesty is aligned with the “We Reach You to Thank You” initiative of the Dubai police.

In the video, Olmidillo said “When I found the money, hindi po ako nagdalawang isip na ibalik yung pera sa nagma-may-ari. Hindi po akin yun at alam kong may return si God para sa akin. Maraming salamat po.” — BAP, GMA News
