Rhea Santos now a news anchor in Canada, marks ‘this day that I’m able to do my passion to tell stories’


Former “Unang Hirit” host Rhea Santos on Wednesday shared a photo of herself as a news anchor for OMNI News Filipino Edition in Canada.

On the caption, Rhea said she’s “marking this day that I’m able to do my passion to tell stories that matter to my ‘kababayan’ here in Canada.”

“You will all meet the Filipino team of OMNI News in the coming days. It’s not only Filipinos and Fil-Canadian journalists making this possible,” she said.

Rhea said “a big part are the Canadians and people of diverse backgrounds whom I’m given the opportunity to work with that make OMNI News Filipino Edition happen.”

In a video she shared on Tuesday, Rhea was one of the journalists to introduce OMNI News Filipino Edition.

“Ito ang tahanan ng mga kwento ng mga Pilipino at Filipino-Canadians at mga balitang mahalaga sa ating komunidad,” she added.

After working with GMA for 19 years, Santos began a new chapter of her life in Canada with her family last year.
