GMA-7 Hollywood correspondent Janet Nepales recognized at Southern California Journalism Awards

GMA-7’s Hollywood correspondent Janet Nepales was recently recognized by the Los Angeles Press Club during its 62nd Southern California Journalism Awards.

Nepales won second place in the Entertainment News Feature - Foreign Correspondents category for her Hollywood Bulletin column “Understanding Jordan Peele and ‘Us’” published in Manila Bulletin.

As the Hollywood correspondent of GMA-7, Nepales holds the weekly column Hollywood Insider on GMA News Online.

The award-winning journalist is the first and only Filipina among the prestigious 90-member Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which presents the annual Golden Globe Awards.

She was reelected treasurer of HFPA for 2020-2021.

Based in Los Angeles, Nepales is a University of Santo Tomas Journalism cum laude graduate who was recognized by the Filipina Women’s Network as one of the “100 Most influential Filipino Women in the US” in 2012 and one of the “100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the world” in 2013. – Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/RC, GMA News
