Episode on June 23, 2010 Wednesday after Saksi! “It was like watching music in the water, watching not listening." Kiko Rustia used these words to describe the experience of being welcomed by pods of graceful dolphins in the Babuyan Channel last summer. They were a mere side show then, humpback whales being the main subject of the team’s expedition. This time, he and Doc Ferds travel to the provinces of Negros and Bohol to discover more about these charismatic creatures. Two teams attempt to film wild behavior of dolphins underwater. But it’s not an easy task. Although dolphins are known to be friendly to humans, it’s not that simple to get in the water with hundreds of dolphins swimming side by side. But things are looking good for Doc Ferds and Kiko who were able to capture up close shots of the dolphins’ surface behaviors – spinning, diving and “dancing" in the ocean. But while many are amazed or charmed by dolphins, they are still being butchered in different parts of the world. In the documentary, “The Cove," dolphins are shown hunted and killed in huge numbers. And even in the Philippines, the blood of these marine mammals has also been shed out at sea. Born to be Wild’s special presentation on dolphins airs this Wednesday after Saksi.
Nakakatuwang tingnan, nakaaaliw panoorin.
