Pod of humpback whales and Batanes underwater on 'Born to be Wild'

BORN EXPEDITIONS: Summer of 2015
Part 2 this Sunday, April 12

A humpback whale called PH 189 was first documented in the Babuyan Islands in 1998.  In Part 2 of this season’s Born Expeditions, Doc Nielsen and his team film PH 189 as she returns to Philippine seas.

But PH 189 is not alone this time; she is now a mother, documented with her calf.  Using an aerial camera, the Born team captures what is probably one of the largest “play dates” in the ocean when a group of five humpbacks is joined by a pod of dolphins.

Batanes is known for its magnificent terrain, but did you know that Batanes’ famed “rolling hills” can also be seen under the sea?  Doc Ferds Recio dives Batanes and sees a city underwater: the glorious clown fish city!

Don’t miss the biggest journeys of the summer. Catch Part 2 of the Born Expeditions, airing this Sunday after AHA!
