Cobra-fighting mongoose and exotic monkey rescue on 'Born to be Wild'

BORN TO BE WILD
June 28, 2015 lineup

Doc Ferds returns to Palawan to join a group of researchers on an expedition to Cleopatra's Needle, a habitat for many endemic species. The researchers have set up camera traps—devices that detect movement and capture images—to document these species and find out more about their behavior.

Doc Ferds and his team take a look at the images gathered by the researchers. They find that an otter, a porcupine, a leopard cat and a rare mongoose have all been filmed in the wild, proof that Palawan remains one of the last frontiers for Philippine wildlife and is an area worth protecting for future generations.

In Cagayan de Oro City, Doc Nielsen responds to a call. A rare primate will be turned over to authorities. The team discovers that the primate is a Celebes Crested Monkey that is native to Indonesia.
