BORN TO BE WILD
August 9, 2015 lineup

Doc Nielsen's Vietnam expedition continues this Sunday on Born to be Wild.

He meets a baby gibbon at Cu Chi Rescue Center, where these primates are housed after being rescued from hunters. Gibbons are cute when they are small, which is probably why hunters collect them for the pet trade. But this often means that their parents have to be killed for the hunters to gather the babies. Gibbons have a fascinating sound which Doc Nielsen hears at the rescue center. He and his team then head out to Vietnam's forests to find the wild gibbons. Will the team hear the gibbonís call in the wild?

Doc Ferds Recio explores the fascinating world of frogs. While they may not be the planetís cutest creatures, they certainly are some of the most important "bioindicators." Many frogs thrive in clean, healthy ecosystems, and their presence signals a good environment.

In the Philippines, many new and endemic frog species are still being discovered. But Doc Ferds and his team also learn that certain frog species are now threatened due to habitat loss.

Don't miss this Sunday's episode of Born to be Wild, right after AHA!
