Born to be Wild presents “Ocean World” finale this Sunday

The fourth and last chapter of Ocean World tackles the global problem of waste, particularly plastics, that invade the seas. While sea turtles, whales, and other marine creatures are directly affected by plastics reaching their habitat, humans too are slowly feeling the effects of an ocean full of plastics.

Doc Ferds dives in Indonesia’s popular spot Nusa Penida, where he sees not only majestic manta rays but also trash underwater. In a recent viral video taken by a British diver, streams of trash could be seen riding the current in the famous dive spot.

Plastic has also made its way into the Marianas Trench, the deepest part of the ocean.

In the Philippines, Doc Nielsen observes the experiment of an expert in microplastics to know whether samples of rock salt contain components of plastic. The results may be shocking enough to start a discussion on our irresponsible use and disposal of plastics.

An eye-opening episode awaits this Sunday morning in the finale of Born to be Wild’s 'Ocean World' after AHA! on GMA Network.
