BORN TO BE WILD
September 8, 2019

Wild boars are known to be aggressive. But in an island in Mindanao, wild boars can be seen in groups and are observed to be less aggressive, even roaming a tourist area. Locals have seen them mingling with monkeys and co-existing with humans. Doc Nielsen observes the behavior of these “friendly” boars in their natural habitat.

Pythons can grow up to 30 feet in length and are considered among the heaviest snakes in the world. They coil their bodies around their prey before swallowing them whole. But even their powerful jaws are no match against humans slowly encroaching on their forest habitat.

In Iligan, Doc Ferds responds to call about a python that needs to be treated after being hit on the head. Out of fear, a resident struck the animal that entered their home. The team also finds out about “Tintin”, a pet snake of 19 years that has grown so big and so long that its former caretaker had to turn it over to a center. Will these snakes make it back to the wild?
