Roadtrip sa Norte

Episode on September 11, 2008 Thursday night after Saksi Join Miriam Quiambao and Joaquin Valdes as they conquer the northernmost tip of Luzon and go on an exciting road trip to… Ilocos! Hitch a ride and revisit the past as Miriam and Joaquin go to world famous sights of Ilocos Norte and Sur such as Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Joaquin tours the cobblestone roads of Calle Crisologo while Miriam visits Paoay Church, one of the oldest cathedrals in the country. They will also discover the different products and industries that made Ilocos a popular destination for tourists, like the “burnay" jars, “abel iloco" weaving, binakol cloth and antique furnitures! Aside from sightseeing, Miriam and Joaquin indulge in mouth-watering Ilocano specialties! Miriam tries the “saramsam" pasta, which uses shrimp paste and green mangoes for its pasta sauce! Joaquin, on the other hand, searches the beaches of Ilocos Sur to taste the exotic grilled sea urchin! Miriam and Joaquin finishes their Ilocano pig-out by trying the “dinuguan" and “gamet" empanada, malunggay ice cream and palazzo special, a one-of-a-kind shake mixed with the Ilocano traditional wine basi. Miriam and Joaquin end their road trip by swimming in the beautiful Pagudpud beach and visiting the majestic Bangui Wind Mills.
