Episode airs on March 24, 2007 Sine Totoo presents one of the documentaries that made Philippine broadcasting history by winning the country's first and only George Foster Peabody Award, the broadcast equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize. "Kamao", the Peabody-winning episode, presents the alarming truth behind boxing, the country's most celebrated sport. Shocking video of the non-title bout between Eugene Barutag and Randy Andagan is shown wherein the brutal fight ended in the former's death inside the ring. Jessica Soho, who hosted and wrote "Kamao" in 1999, shares her insights on the sport with Sine Totoo host Howie Severino. She discusses what it was like to meet former boxing champions experiencing dire poverty - one was blinded in a fight with a Korean boxer, another used to live in posh hotels but now calls a makeshift shelter home. Prominently featured in the documentary is former world featherweight champion Rolando Navarrete, who now lives off food provided by generous neighbors. Soho also reveals that the documentary was her first opportunity to meet the then little-known boxer Manny Pacquiao, who was still trying to make a name for himself in General Santos City. Catch this very special screening of "Kamao", along with a rare interview of Jessica Soho on Sine Totoo, Saturday night at 11:15 pm over GMA. -GMANews.TV
