Episode on July 7, 2007 Saturday late night Now that elected officials have formally taken office, Sine Totoo runs a special report to remind them of one of the most pressing issues facing the country. In this episode from GMA News and Public Affairs’ groundbreaking election series Philippine Agenda, multi-awarded broadcaster Arnold Clavio examines the country's lack of health services. Philippine Agenda covers a town where people die without ever seeing a doctor and a seemingly simple disease like scabies becomes fatal for children. The nearest health center is four hours away by foot and only has a handful of paracetamol in stock. Philippine Agenda documents a provincial hospital so ill-equipped that patients have to bring their own banigs and lie in the corridors for days unattended. The program also witnesses the final days of a tuberculosis patient and the clinic that runs out of medicine just as she takes her last breath. Arnold Clavio and Philippine Agenda producer Mytee Oliva discuss the alarming state of our health care system with Sine Totoo host Howie Severino -- and how this episode deeply affected them as they shot it. Catch their gripping special report on Sine Totoo, this Saturday late night over GMA-7.
