Unang Hirit Kicks Off its 26th Anniversary with Big Surprises!

GMA’s Unang Hirit marked the grand kick-off of its 26th anniversary this December 1, 2025 with a heartfelt and festive celebration that highlighted the show’s enduring commitment to public service, community spirit, and morning energy.

As part of its anniversary tradition of giving, Unang Hirit unveiled its biggest surprise of the day - PROJECT PASKO, where ?100,000 was given as Pamaskong Handog in Talisay, Cebu, many of whom remain in evacuation centers after the devastation brought by Typhoon Tino.

Residents gathered with growing anticipation as UH Hosts Susan Enriquez and Kaloy Tingcungco prepared to reveal the long-awaited surprise. The moment the Project Pasko was revealed - a generous ?100,000 holiday blessing - the crowd erupted in disbelief and joy, with some residents even moved to tears.

One resident shared through heartfelt sobs, “Masaya po kami kahit wala na kaming bahay kasi maraming nagdo-donate para sa amin dito. Salamat po sa lahat.” (We’re happy, even if we don’t have a home anymore, because so many are donating to help us here.  Thank you, everyone.)

Among those UH visited again was Nanay Fe, whom Susan Enriquez first interviewed at the height of the typhoon. She’s still living in an evacuation center after her home was completely washed away. Tearfully, she shared how worried she was about what Christmas would look like for her family, given everything they’d lost. In an earlier interview, she broke down as she admitted she had no idea what kind of holiday awaited them after losing everything.

This time, Susan came back with a gift meant to ease that burden - ?10,000 for Nanay Fe and her family. The donation is part of the team’s effort to support evacuees like her as they begin rebuilding their lives and try to keep the spirit of Christmas alive. Shocked and overwhelmed, she could only say, “Salamat po. Sobrang saya ko po!” (Thank you. I’m really so happy!)

The celebration also unveiled the colorful UH Gift-mas Tree, packed with toys, clothes, and other surprises for children affected by recent disasters.

Lucky Viewers Surprised With ?5,000

Staying true to its anniversary spirit, Unang Hirit also brought the celebration to its loyal Kapuso viewers. Lucky commenters on the official Unang Hirit Facebook page were surprised with ?5,000 each for their Noche Buena!
