GMA’s Unang Hirit kept the energy high on its 26th Anniversary Week as Day 3 delivered big surprises and a heartfelt reunion that left viewers in tears.

One of the biggest surprises of the morning was the reveal of special host-mate Alice Dixson. Both viewers and UH hosts had been eagerly waiting for the announcement — especially since even the hosts themselves didn’t know who the mystery host-mate would be. 

Julie Anne San Jose Performs New Single “Simula”

Another highlight of the star-studded celebration was a special musical treat from Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose, who serenaded viewers with a live performance of her newest single, “SIMULA.” Her heartfelt rendition set the mood for a morning filled with hope and new beginnings.

UH Pamaskong Handog Brings Joy to a Manila Community

UH hosts Suzi Entrata, Mariz Umali, and Kaloy Tingcungco took the celebration outside the studio as they launched the UH Pamaskong Handog in a barangay in Manila. Residents were treated to Noche Buena packages, making sure families can still celebrate a meaningful and abundant Christmas.

UH also brought along the colorful UH Gift-mas Tree, where residents had a chance to pick gifts and win special prizes. One fire victim broke down in tears after winning a brand-new refrigerator. “Thank you po. Heto po talaga ang pinapangarap ko ang magka-ref” (Thank you. This is what I’ve been wishing for: to have a refrigerator.)

A Heartwarming 26-Year Reunion

But the most powerful moment of the day was an emotional family reunion arranged by Unang Hirit. The team built suspense with a mysterious giant Pamaskong Handog box, leaving the audience curious about what could be inside. When the time finally came, the hosts opened the massive gift box… and out stepped Tatay Dionisio’s three daughters from Leyte — whom he hadn’t seen in 26 years.  The taxi driver was overwhelmed with shock and joy, leaving the studio and viewers at home deeply moved.

Tears immediately flowed as the long-separated family embraced for the first time in decades. When asked why she sent her wish to Unang Hirit, daughter Cyra, crying said: “Tanging hangad ko lang, makita yung tatay ko mula nung bata pa ako. 3 years old pa lang ako nung huli kaming magkita.” (All I ever wanted was to see my father again.  I was only three years old the last time we were together.)
