Kultura at kasaysayan ng Iloilo at Guimaras, tuklasin sa 'i Juander'


I Juander, gaano kayaman sa kultura at kasaysayan ang Iloilo at Guimaras?

Sa pagpunta nina Susan Enriquez at Cesar Apolinario sa probinsya ng Iloilo at Guimaras, hindi lang mga sikat na tourist destination ang kanilang pakay --- kundi ang kilalanin din ang kanilang kultura't kasaysayan.



Hindi lang daw mangga ang dapat na dinadayo sa probinsya ng Guimaras, kundi pati ang mga istruktura rito na noon pang panahon ng mga Kastila itinayo. Gaya na lang ng Navalas Church na ginawa noon pang 1880 at siyang pinaka lumang simbahan sa probinsya. Samantalang ang Guisi Lighthouse, taong 1894 pa nagbibigay liwanag sa mga manlalayag na dumadaan sa Panay Strait.     



Pagdating naman sa mga fiesta, dinadayo tuwing Enero ang Dinagyang Festival sa Iloilo. Pero hindi rin daw dapat palagpasin ang makadalo sa Bantayan Festival na ipinagdiriwang naman sa bayan ng Guimbal tuwing Abril.

As Susan Enriquez and Cesar Apolinario travelled to the province of Iloilo and Guimaras, they did not only visit the popular tourist destination, they also discovered the culture and history of the provinces.

Mango is not the only reason why people visit Guimaras, even the old structures that was built during Spanish time are also visited. Navalas church was built in 1880 that is considered as the oldest church in the province. While Guisi Lighthouse used to offer navigation to sailors that traverse in Panay Strait since 1894.

When it comes to fiesta, people travel to Iloilo to witness the Dinagyang Festival in January. Juan should not also miss the chance to witness the Bantayan Festival that is celebrated in the town of Guimbal in April.
