'I-Witness:' The story of two mothers in search of their stolen babies

To lose a newborn inside a hospital is unthinkable for a mother. And yet, in the past three years, six cases of stolen babies were reported by the media. December 29, 2012, Ruvelyn Fernandez gave birth to twin girls in a hospital in Cagayan. Born premature, one of the twins was confined in the intensive care unit of the said hospital. One week later, that baby was allegedly stolen by an unknown lady from inside the ICU. That same nightmare happened to 31 year-old Cess de los Santos. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy on September 1, 2012. Three days later, a woman dressed in a doctor’s scrub allegedly came to her room to take the baby for newborn screening. That baby boy was never to be seen again. This Monday on I-Witness, Sandra Aguinaldo tells the dark and emotional story of two first-time mothers – their grief as they search for their “Stolen Babies”.
