'Bad boy of Philippine cinema'
I-Witness continues its anniversary series on Philippine icons with a documentary on the "bad boy of Philippine cinema". Writer-host Kara David has one memorable encounter after another with action star Robin Padilla in this episode. They find they share something in common: it turns out both are wordsmiths at heart. David learns that Padilla wrote the dialogue on most of his movies. She also discovers he dreams up his own action scenes and was responsible for creating many of his memorable film characters. David follows Padilla to Thailand where he is shooting the foreign leg of his top-rated adventure series Asian Treasures. There, David also meets Robinâs two children, who are both studying the martial art muay thai. Back in Manila, David documents Padillaâs other projects, including his foundation for Muslim youth, which also employs many of his former companions at the New Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa. Padillaâs life has always been as colorful as his movies. The ups and downs, the reinventions after the fall, have captured the hearts of the masses because, just like them, Padilla is a survivor. David gives us an in-depth and personal look at the man behind the Bad Boy mythâ¦Monday late night on I-Witness over GMA-7.
