“TARANAKI THE LONELY MOUNTAIN”
Dokumentaryo ni Kara David
February 3, 2018

As Mayon volcano remains restive and continues to spew volcanic materials – Kara David herself will head to New Zealand to conquer another volcano --- Mount Taranaki. At 2,518 meters, it’s a hundred meters higher than the volcano in Albay.
Mount Taranaki sits at the town of New Plymouth in the northern part of New Zealand. It derives its name from the word “tara” which means peak. While “naki” comes from the word “ngaki” which means “shining”, in reference to its icy slopes which seem to gleam from afar. But the trail to the top is difficult and treacherous. In fact, more than eighty people have already died trying to reach its peak.
Together with a group of professional mountaineers, Kara will scale Mount Taranaki. Parts of the mountain are steep and rocky, while other areas are buried in thick mud. They also have to pass the “Goblin Forest.” What would make it extremely difficult for the team is the freezing temperature which reaches zero degrees. In the face of these challenges, will they be able to reach the peak of Mount Taranaki?
Join Kara David in yet another thrilling adventure this Saturday on I-Witness, after Celebrity Bluff on GMA.
