Alternative milk Many were alarmed when news about melamine-laced milk products from China came out. Melamine, a chemical used for paints and adhesives, has been blamed for the death of at least four babies and thousands of children who became ill after drinking milk tainted with it. In the Philippines, mothers fear the safety of their infants. Thus, various alternative milk products have become available in the market such as Buffalo’s milk from Nueva Ecija, coconut skin milk considered nutritious and good for the body. Cross dressing Rustom Padilla grabbed everyone’s attention when he attended the Gawad Urian wearing a woman’s clothes. According to him, this was part of his preparation for a role in a movie. There are others who also cross-dress for personal reasons. A lead vocalist of a local band wears gown everytime he performs while another young man chooses women’s clothes when he attends Cosplay. Skirts and malongs are part of the regular attire of a socialite. All of them are certified straight men who just like outfits for women. Miners Few weeks ago, 16 miners were trapped inside Gold Field Mine in Itogon, Benguet. After more than a week of rescue operations, six of them were found dead. This incident once again opened discussions about the safety of the country’s mining industry.

Dahil dito, muli na namang napukol ang atensyon kung gaano ba kaligtas ang mining industry sa ating bansa lalong lalo na para sa ating mga minero at sa mga komunidad na nasa paligid nito.
