Original recipes of Pinoy food favorites, ibibida sa 'Pinas Sarap'

“Nothing beats the original,” maging sa mundo ng kulinarya dahil iba pa rin ang sarap ng orihinal na timpla. Ngayong Huwebes sa Pinas Sarap, babalikan natin ang kwento ng mga henyo sa likod ng mga natatanging putahe at kung paano sila nakaambag sa makulay at masarap na kasaysayan ng ating hapag.

Sa bayan ng Angono Rizal, signature dish ang Fried Itik. Aksidente lang daw itong naimbento. Ang mga hindi naibebentang malilit na dressed itik, pinirito para hindi masayang. Aksidente ring naimbento ang paborito nating ulam at pulutang Crispy Pata. Gawa raw ito sa tirang pata ng lechon baboy na tinimplahan at ipinirito. Bahagi naman ng Kapampangan pride ang Sizzling Sisig at Tocino.

Impluwensiya ng mga Tsino sa Pilipino ang pagkahilig sa Pansit. Pero ang ilan sa mga noodle recipe, maipagmamalaki nating tatak Pinoy dahil sa Pilipinas ito naimbento gaya ng Pancit Puso ng Cavite, Lomi ng Batangas at Pancit Malabon.

Pagdating sa panghimagas, original dessert naman ang ipinagmamalaki ng Norte, ang Teano milk candy ng Cagayan at royal bibingka ng Ilocos Sur.

There’s a saying “Nothing beats the original”. This Thursday, Pinas Sarap will share the stories of geniuses behind the original dishes that contributed colour and flavour to Philippine culinary.  

The signature dish of Angono, Rizal is Fried itik or duck. Do you know that this dish was just accidentally discovered?A lady decided to fry the unsold small dressed ducks so it won’t get spoiled. Another invention by accident is our favourite crispy pata or pork leg. This was made from left over legs of lechon that is flavoured and fried. While, the people behind the discovery of Kapampangan’s pride Sizzling Sisig and Tocino will be reavealed.

Our love for Pancit or noodles is influenced by the Chinese. But some of our popular noodle recipes are authentic Pinoy dish, because Filipinos reinvented their own versions like the Pancit Puso or noodles with banana blossoms in Cavite, Lomi noodles in Batangas and Pancit Malabon.

When it comes to dessert, the pride of the North is Teano Milk candy of Cagayan and royal bibingka or rice cake of Ilocos Sur.
