The Atom Araullo Specials

November 20, 2022, 2:00 to 3:35 pm

Sexpectation vs. Reality

The Philippines is only one of 2 nations in the world where divorce is still not recognized.  It is also a country where 90% of its population are Catholic.  Despite these conservative facts, the Philippines is also home to a burgeoning explicit online content industry where both men and women sell nudes and other sexual content for a price.

Salome Salvi is considered one of the “superstars” in this industry.  Despite her profession being stigmatized, she proudly carries on while advocating rights for workers like her.  Others however are not as successful and sell their sensitive content out of sheer need.  Some of these explicit content creators suffer harassment, blackmail, and are even cheated financially.

Meanwhile, there are women who invest in their looks and shower time and attention to men who are willing to pay for their company.  They are called Sugar Babies.  From explicit content creators to sugar babies, Atom Araullo will navigate this online industry and meet the people driving it.  He will also examine issues of women and women empowerment.  Is the Philippines one of the world’s hotspots for online sexual content?  Atom Araullo will find out this November.
