Philippine Movie Press Club names Vicky Morales as 'Best Public Service Program Host'

Vicky Morales was named as 'Best Public Service Program Host' for the program 'Wish Ko Lang' by the Philippine Movie Press Club for the 29th Star Awards for Television held last Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Kia Theater, Cubao, Quezon City.

Morales, one of the pillars of GMA News and Public Affairs, has been with 'Wish Ko Lang' for more than a decade now. The show is known to be the country’s first and longest-running wish-granting program that features inspiring stories of ordinary Filipinos who struggle to overcome real-life obstacles.

Throughout the years, 'Wish Ko Lang' consistently brings joy to its millions of viewers with its stories of hope.

Julius Ian Pacheco, Executive Producer of ‘Wish Ko Lang,’ credits the show’s longevity to the dedication and effort exerted by its host that made the show a TV landmark program in Philippine TV.

“With Vicky Morales, talagang mararamdaman mo ang sincerity sa ginagawa niyang mga stories.”

He also added that the host goes beyond her way to extend help to their case studies featured in their stories.

“Kahit tapos na ‘yung segment, talagang gumgawa siya ng ways to help case studies without having the need to broadcast it or to let anyone know. She is like a real-life fairy godmother”

In an interview with GMA Reporter Aubrey Carampel, Morales shares how grateful she is for receiving the award. However, she wishes to share this recognition to everyone who is involved in any form of public service.

“Natutuwa ako pero nahihiya akong tanggapin ang award na ito dahil alam ko na ang dami-daming nag-aambag ng public service. Gusto kong ibahagi ang award na ito sa lahat ng nasa public service, sa lahat ng tumutulong in their own little way.” ---Kimberlie Refuerzo/BMS, GMA Public Affairs
