Zoom in on this hi-res panoramic shot of the Andromeda Galaxy

The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope just took a picture of the Andromeda galaxy. And it’s huge. (The picture. The galaxy being huge is a given.) A downsized, cropped version of the picture is available for viewing online and it’s made up of 1.5 billion pixels.

It’s the biggest Hubble image ever released so far, containing over 100 million stars and thousands of star clusters.

The image is too big to be displayed in full resolution (you’d need 600 HD TVs for that), so you need to use the zoom tool to appreciate its glory.
