The eerie, trumpet-likes noises recorded in Lobo, Batangas may have been a combination of rumbling thunder and wind noises, a PAGASA scientist told GMA 7 news program “24 Oras” on Monday.

According to PAGASA forecaster Fernando Cada, who spoke with Vincent Andy Magnaye, the netizen who recorded and uploaded the noises, the video was taken on June 4 near the beach, where conditions were likely windy.

Also, as seen in the video recording, there were cumulonimbus clouds in the sky that day that may have produced thunder.

"Makikita naman natin sa video na medyo madilim ang ulap, isa pong klase 'yan ng cumulonimbus clouds. So ibig sabihin, talagang may rumbling sounds," he added. "Meron ding factor and malakas na hangin din siyang na-experience at the same time nagkaroon din ng mga tunog o huni ng mga ibon." — Trisha Macas /DVM/JDS, GMA News
