International Space Station visible over PHL Thursday

Skywatchers across the Philippines can catch a glimpse of the International Space Station (ISS) as it flies overhead Thursday evening, May 26.

At a maximum brightness of magnitude -3.3 as its peak, the ISS will be brighter than most stars in the sky.

It will also be moving quite fast: the entire pass across the sky will take just under ten minutes, from 7:27 p.m. to 7:39 p.m.

Astronaut Ignazio Magnani gave a heads-up that the station will be visible to the naked eye directly overhead in Manila at around 7:31 p.m. Philippine Time.

 


 

The ISS will also be visible to skywatchers outside of the capital, but lower in the sky.
