Restive Mayon Volcano on Monday noon spewed ash anew, causing an ash column as seen on a tweet by Super Radyo dzBB's Allan Gatus.

Before that, a "degassing event" observed at the volcano past 10 a.m. on Monday, Super Radyo dzBB said, citing the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

It said the restive volcano discharged pyroclastic material  after the degassing event.

PHIVOLCS said these were all indications of Mayon's abnormal activities.

Alert Level 3 remains in effect over Mayon Volcano as lava fountains that resulted from two of three volcanic tremors observed from Sunday evening to early Saturday morning generate more lava flows and rockfall events. —KBK, GMA News
