PHIVOLCS warns public vs. fake earthquake, tsunami predictions
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) on Thursday warned the public against fake news on earthquake and tsunami predictions.
In social media posts, PHIVOLCS clarified that there is no reliable technology yet that can predict the exact time, date and location of large earthquakes.
“Please avoid sharing or believing messages from unconfirmed and unreliable sources,” PHIVOLCS said.
