Quiet emission of steam plume monitored at Taal
A quiet emission of a steam plume was monitored at the main crater of Taal Volcano on Friday morning.
According to PHIVOLCS, the emission started "intermittently" at 11 p.m. on Thursday "with the onset of rains."
"No volcanic quakes nor infrasound from Taal's activity have been recorded since 12:36 PM of 20 May 2021," PHIVOLCS said.
For the past 24 hours, only 10 volcanic earthquakes had been recorded in Taal, including two low frequency volcanic earthquake and eight volcanic tremors that lasted from two to 20 minutes.

Taal Volcano is still under Alert Level 2, meaning there is "increased unrest." PHIVOLCS said sudden steam-driven or phreatic explosions, volcanic earthquakes, minor ashfall, and lethal accumulations or expulsions of volcanic gas may occur. —KBK, GMA News
