Magnitude 5 quake shakes Surigao del Norte

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake rocked General Luna in Surigao del Norte on Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.

The earthquake, tectonic in origin, occurred at 9:35 a.m.

Its epicenter was located at 09.88°N, 126.89°E - 060 km N 81° east of General Luna.

The quake had a depth of 015 kilometers.

Intensity II was felt in General Luna, and Dapa, Surigao del Norte.

PHIVOLCS said no damage is expected but aftershocks may occur. —KBK, GMA News
