Blood moon rises over the Philippines
By NIKA ROQUE, GMA Integrated News
The much-awaited total lunar eclipse, also known as the blood moon, rose over the Earth on Tuesday evening.
It was one of the last major astronomical events in the Philippines, and was studied to last for one hour, 25 minutes, and 42 seconds.
GMA News reporters and YouScoopers made the most of the night, as the next total lunar eclipse will not be until September 7 to 8, 2025, and March 3, 2026.
Here are some of our favorite photos of the blood moon from across the country.
The total lunar eclipse was a true sight to behold. And coincidentally, the latest episode of “Maria Clara at Ibarra” featuring the blood moon premiered on the same night. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
