Magnitude 6 quake strikes off Davao Occidental

A magnitude 6 earthquake struck off the coast of Davao Occidental on Saturday afternoon, according to PHIVOLCS.

The earthquake occurred at 4:55 p.m., and its epicenter was located 234 kilometers southeast of Balut Island, which is administered by Sarangani town.

It had a depth of 83 kilometers and was tectonic in nature.

Intensity I was felt in T'Boli and Koronadal City, South Cotabato as well as in Kiamba and Glan, Sarangani province.

No damage or aftershocks were expected as a result of Saturday's quake.
