Magnitude 5.0 earthquake jolts Eastern Samar


A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Eastern Samar on Monday night,  state seismologists said.

The earthquake was recorded 18 kilometers northwest of Llorente town at around  9:01 p.m. with a depth of 32 kilometers, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

Intensity V was also felt in the towns Balangkayan and Hernani.

No damages are expected, but PHIVOLCS warned of possible aftershocks.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
